Heritage, Identity, and the State in Bolivia: Decolonization, Andean Capitalism, and Tourist Development
By Dr. Elayne Zorn

Cultural anthropologist Dr. Elayne Zorn has conducted fieldwork in Bolivia and Peru for over 25 years. As an artist, she apprenticed with an indigenous weaver in Taquile, an island on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca. Later as an anthropologist, she studied how indigenous peoples in Bolivia and Peru have experienced and coped with globalization. The Rollins community will have the opportunity to hear her speak about her recent research on social and cultural changes in the Bolivian Andes under the presidency of Evo Morales on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7:00 pm in the Suntrust Auditorium, Crummer Hall.
